Mason County Literacy
Mason County Literacy provides free instruction to adults to improve reading, writing and math skills, study for a GED, or learn English as a second language. Our no-cost services are provided in Mason County and in Thurston County through Bookends Literacy.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) helping community members build their self-sufficiency and contribute to their local community through work, family life and education, providing services for 290 adults in Mason and Thurston counties during the 2008-2009 fiscal year with 17,000 hours of instruction time, thanks to our 144 volunteers and many supporters.
“The mission of Mason County Literacy is to provide the skills and services necessary for learners to achieve meaningful participation in a literate society and to encourage the self-confidence and imagination to use those tools for the benefit of self, family, and the communities served by Mason County Literacy.”
